New Frank Lloyd Wright

I have admired this design for a long time.. super strong horizontals, reminds me of Unity Temple a little...the renderings were looking up from the bottom of a cliff...very japaneese...this design was never excuted ...until 2 years ago when some local Buffalo people paid for the "Wright" to build it.

Nicely executed...door finishes are failing already.

I still can't figure out how he can get the steel to cantilever that far and hold the concrete
panels...dead load way above 50lbs/sf...?

rush rhees at night

the rochester skyline icon is nicely lit up at night. I did some work on the collaborative learning center her a couple years ago...an amusing experience...given that the building housing the rare book collections is in the upper floors of the tower....it will be a roman candle if the thing ever goes up...lots of fun discussions with the fire marshal about sprinklers and rare book colletions.

Fall's Great

This fall seems more intense this year. The colors are more vivid. The wet summer has really changed things I think. Normally my crab apple loses its leaves in september....they are still on and they are still green...I've seen them change as early as august.

So here's this great tree down the road from me that I gawk at every year because of its brilliance. I finally took the time to shoot it.

Talk about ORANGE!

from the vault again

digging up the old stuff for digital archiving has been a monstrous task with some interesting moments of "wow I forgot about that"...sitting in the urn at Frank Llloyd Wright's Unity Temple, Salisbury Cathedral, my friend Dan and I driving across country...heres a few I have blown up...
